Woman dies after Co Clare road accident

A female pedestrian was knocked down and killed in Co Clare earlier today.

The woman was hit by a motorcycle shortly before 12 noon at Daragh, about five miles outside Ennis on the Kilrush Road.

She was taken to Ennis General Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

The woman's name has not yet been released.

Gardaí at Ennis station are investigating.
