One third of women unaware of cervical cancer cause

More than one third of Irish women are not aware of the cause of cervical cancer, according to information gathered during an awareness week earlier this year.

Experts believe the main cause of the condition is the human papilloma virus, which affects up to 80% of sexually active women at some stage in their lives.
