A 24-hour exclusion zone remains in place on the outskirts of Kilkenny, following a fire in the city's main industrial estate yesterday.

A 24-hour exclusion zone remains in place on the outskirts of Kilkenny, following a fire in the city's main industrial estate yesterday.

Emergency services are concerned that a fuel-filled cylinder at the Purcellsinch site could overheat and explode.

The Gardaí imposed the cordon following the fire.

Fire services will continue to monitor the situation until lunchtime today when the cordon is expected to be lifted.
