Man dies in knife attack

A 28-year-old man died after a knife attack today.

A second man is being treated in hospital with stab wounds after an incident at an apartment at Cedarwood Walk, Ballyfermot, in Dublin shortly after 6am.

A 31-year-old man, who was arrested at the scene by gardaí, is in custody at Ballyfermot Garda station.

He is being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

A garda spokesman said the two men were taken to St James’ Hospital with stab wounds. One was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

“The second man remains in hospital,” he added.
