Environment conference opens in Dublin
The country’s largest environmental conference opens in Dublin today.
More than 300 delegates will attend the two-day event at the Burlington Hotel with the focus this year on the way forward for the country.
Under the heading Towards 2020: The Environment in Ireland’s Future, experts and academics will debate the challenges facing Ireland and what can be done to tackle them.
Minister for the Environment John Gormley will give the opening address.
The conference will focus on key environmental issues such as climate change, sustainable development, the environmental impact of transport and water resource management.
