A couple, whose catamaran got into difficulty near rocks at Dingle, were brought to shore at around 9pm last night.

A couple, whose catamaran got into difficulty near rocks at Dingle, were brought to shore at around 9pm last night.

The Shannon Helicopter, the Dingle Coastguard and a local vessel were involved in the operation.

A short time later, a fisherman was airlifted from a vessel off the coast of Cork.

It is understood he had badly injured his arm on board the ship, and he is now being treated at Cork University Hospital.
