Govt urged to intervene in Aer Lingus-Shannon crisis
The Government is being urged to intervene as a major shareholder of Aer Lingus after the airline refused a request from Ryanair to call an Extraordinary General Meeting.
Business groups in the Shannon region are calling on the Taoiseach to use the Government's 25% share in the company to force Aer Lingus to hold an EGM.
The Atlantic Connectivity Alliance is due to meet the Minister for Transport Noel Dempsey for the first time next week to discuss the controversy.
