Man still held by Cork gardaí over fatal stabbing

Gardaí in Cork are still holding a man in connection with a fatal stabbing in the city yesterday.

The victim, 24-year-old Brian McKee of Ballinure Avenue in Mahon died from his injuries at the University Hospital.

A murder inquiry has been launched.

The 27-year-old in custody can be detained until 9am this morning when he must be released or charged.
