Man fights for life after Cork cemetery stabbing

A man was in a critical condition today after a dawn stabbing outside a Cork cemetery.

The 24-year-old was being treated in Cork University Hospital for multiple wounds and said to be fighting for his life after undergoing surgery.

He is believed to have been stabbed during a fight between a number of men at Ballinure Avenue near St Michael's Cemetery, Blackrock at around 5.30am.

Gardai sealed off the scene for forensic examination and appealed for anyone who was in the area and witnessed the fight to contact them.
