A 27-year-old lawyer from New York has been crowned this year's Rose of Tralee.

A 27-year-old lawyer from New York has been crowned this year's Rose of Tralee.

Bookies favourite Lisa Murtagh became the 48th Rose last night after the annual pageant in the Co Kerry town.

She is the fourth New York representative to win the prize since the festival began.

As well as picking up the title, Ms Murtagh also wins a €25,000 travel fund, a Newbridge silverware trophy and tiara, as well as jewellery and a car.
