A motorcyclist in his twenties has died in a collision on the Burtonhall road in Sandyford, Dublin.

A motorcyclist in his twenties has died in a collision on the Burtonhall road in Sandyford, Dublin.

The accident happened just after 4am today.

His death brings the total to three killed on Irish roads overnight.

One man died in a two-car collision at Limekiln Road in Navan, Co Meath at around 9pm last night. He was the front-seat passenger in a car when it was in collision with another vehicle.

Gardaí in Navan are appealing for witnesses, particularly any local taxi drivers who may have seen the incident.

In the third fatal accident, a male pedestrian, also in his forties, died on the N7 between Roscrea and Portlaoise near the Racket Hall Hotel at around 10.30pm.

The southbound lane of the N7 will remain closed until around midday today as gardaí carry out a technical examination of the scene.

Gardaí in Roscrea are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to contact them.
