A woman had to be rescued from Croagh Patrick in Co Mayo yesterday evening.

A woman had to be rescued from Croagh Patrick in Co Mayo yesterday evening.

She is understood to have injured her ankle while climbing the mountain.

Mayo Mountain Rescue was alerted and subsequently stretchered the woman to safety.

She was treated at Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar for her injury.
