Brazilian beef being fed to Irish troops in ration packs
The Irish Farmers Association is calling for an investigation into claims that Irish soldiers are being fed with Brazilian beef.
The association claims a British company has been using Brazilian beef in the ration packs it supplies to the Irish army.
The IFA has long been calling for a ban on Brazilian beef imports, claiming the South American country's quality controls are not up to standard.
It says the new revelation is "embarrassing" for the Government and is calling on Minister for Defence Willie O'Dea to order an immediate investigation.
