Skull found in garden is 100 years old

A skull discovered by a woman in her back garden is around 100 years old, gardaí revealed today.

After an examination, officers said it is that of a man aged between 25 and 40 who died of natural causes at the turn of the 20th century.

Gardaí said the man’s identity was unknown.

The gruesome find was made by a woman as she cleared undergrowth at her home in Rathfarnham, south Dublin.

It was uncovered at around 1pm yesterday among trees and bushes after a shed had been delivered to the house on Orlagh Grove Estate.

Gardaí had been investigating whether the skull was that of Kenyan migrant Farah Swaleh Noor who was hacked to death by the notorious Mulhall sisters, dubbed the Scissor Sisters over the brutal murder.

Noor was killed and his body dismembered by Charlotte and Linda Mulhall around St Patrick’s Day 2005 and his headless torso dumped in Dublin’s Royal Canal.
