Seven need hospital treatment after bar fire
Seven people were treated in hospital for smoke inhalation after an early morning blaze in Dublin city centre.
An apartment block on the corner of Parnell Street and North Great Georges Street was evacuated when the fire broke out in the Zagloba Bar pub below.
Five fire crews and three ambulances went to the scene, where they rescued residents trapped on the second and third floors overhead.
A spokesman for Dublin Fire Brigade said the fire, which broke out around 4.45am, was due to an electrical fault in the fuse box.
“Seven people were taken to the Mater Hospital,” he added.
