A major campaign will kick off today to raise awareness about protecting Ireland’s Endangered Wildlife in gardens, balconies and public spaces.

The campaign is being launched by Corrin Hill Ice Cream in conjunction with Birdwatch Ireland and includes awards for the country’s best biodiversity gardens, balconies and public spaces.

“Householders can play a key role in protecting Ireland’s biodiversity in their gardens, balconies and public spaces by planting native plants, cutting down on the number of chemicals used and providing shelter for birds,” a Birdwatch Ireland spokeswoman said.

The launch takes place at the Irish Architectural Archive, Merrion Square, at 11am.
