Search resumes for missing fishermen
Concerns were mounting today for the safety of two men missing on Lough Erne in Co Fermanagh.
Emergency services on both sides of the border resumed a search which began yesterday.
The alarm was raised by a couple who spotted an overturned 16ft boat near Devenish Island.
Police and members of the Coastguard on both sides of the border were involved in the search and rescue operation.
An Irish Coastguard rescue helicopter Co Sligo has been deployed.
A crew from Enniskillen inshore lifeboat also joined forces with members of Lough Erne Coastguard Rescue Team.
Liam Colquhoun, watch manager at the Coastguard co-ordination centre at Bangor, said crews were combing the area yesterday to see if the men may have made it ashore to any of the islands on the lough.
"There is little tidal flow at that point in the Lough and we are trying to get as many units into the area to see whether the two missing occupants have made it to the shore.
"Passing vessels are also being asked to keep a look out."
