Lowest unemployment rate for under 25s
Ireland has the lowest unemployment rate in the EU for people under the age of 25, according to new statistics released today.
The European Commission's Eurostat agency says just 5.9% of people under 25 years old are out of work in Ireland.
When all age groups are taken into account, Ireland has the fourth-lowest unemployment rate in the EU, behind the Netherlands, Denmark and Cyprus.
Unemployment is highest in Slovakia and Poland.
