The off-licence trade says it is shocked at reports that the new Minister for Justice is planning to restrict opening hours.

Reports this morning say Brian Lenihan wants to curb opening hours in order to crack down on disorder linked to street drinking.

The National Off-Licence Association says it is happy to be part of the solution, but there are other issues that also need to be addressed like the lack of a mandatory ID card scheme and the removal of the ban on below-cost selling last year.
