Garda Ombudsman probes second fatal crash in Galway
The Garda Síochana Ombudsman Commission (GSOC) is investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal road traffic accident which occurred in Ballinasloe, Co. Galway early this morning.
In an apparent attempt to evade the Gardaí, a member of the public crashed his motorcycle and later died in hospital.
The 36-year-old motorcyclist died after losing control of his bike at Sralea in Ballinsaloe just before midnight.
The Garda Ombudsman is already investigating the circumstances of a separate road fatality in Co Galway in the early hours of yesterday morning.
A pedestrian in his fifties died after being hit by a car driven by an off-duty garda at Glebe in Oughterard.
