The POA says violence in the country's jails is growing in frequency and intensity.

The Association is demanding measures to ensure the safety of its members and wants an agreement on the matter with the Prison Service.

Warden representatives are meeting today to discuss what form of industrial action to take if management does not take the issue seriously.
