EC to investigate state grants to public transport firms

The European Commission has announced its intention to open a formal investigation into a number of government grants awarded to Bus Eireann and Dublin Bus.

In a statement today, the EC said it wanted to find out whether certain payments made to the two companies were in line EU state aid rules.
