Man arrested after doorstep murder

A 29-year-old man was arrested today in connection with the murder of a young man in north Dublin.

Kevin Ledwidge was shot dead when he opened the front door of his house on Ratoath Drive, Finglas at around 9.30am on Sunday.

It is believed the murder is part of a feud with local criminals.

Two men fled the scene in a car but crashed it around the corner and escaped on foot.

Gardaí said they arrested the man in the capital and he is being questioned under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at Finglas Garda Station.

A high-powered handgun, ammunition and drugs have also been seized by gardaí as part of the investigation.
