Gormley begins consultations on elected mayor for Dublin

Minister for the Environment John Gormley has begun a process of consultation on his plans to introduce elections for the position of Dublin Lord Mayor.

Mr Gormley is seeking the opinions of councillors, members of the public and other interested parties with a view to drawing up proposals before the end of this year.
