Govt unveils proposed route for Dublin's Metro West

The proposed route for the metro line planned for west Dublin has been revealed today.

The proposed route for the metro line planned for west Dublin has been revealed today.

The Metro West route will link Tallaght, Clondalkin, Liffey Valley and Blanchardstown before joining up with the planned Metro North at Dublin Airport.

The 25km underground service is scheduled to be completed by 2014.

It is expected to carry 20 million passengers a year, but the Government has decided not publish the cost of the project in today's announcement.
