Cowen vows to honour tax cut pledges

Fianna Fáil will honour pre-election tax cut pledges despite a short-fall in the Government’s coffers, Minister for Finance Brian Cowen today told the Dáil.

Government finances for the first half of 2007 yesterday showed a €1.4 bn deficit compared to a €1bn surplus for the same period last year.
