Union warns Government to accept fundamental rights charter

A leading trade union today warned it would reject the new European Union treaty unless the Government endorsed the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights.

The Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU) said it was shocked by reports the Government had been looking at the possibility of an opt-out from the charter.
