Garda: West Dublin drugs seizure was significant

Gardaí are describing as significant a seizure of drugs in an industrial estate in West Dublin yesterday.

A 20-year-old man was arrested and is still being held at Clondalkin garda station.

Cannabis and cocaine with an estimated street value of €3.5m were discovered by local gardaí and officers from the National Drugs Unit.

A firearm and some ammunition were also recovered.

Inspector Jerry Bergin from the Dublin West Garda division says the haul was made as part of an ongoing operation with police forces in the UK and Europe.
