Taoiseach denies interfering in RTÉ-Flynn settlement

The Taoiseach has rejected claims that he had any part in the settlement reached between Beverly Flynn and RTÉ over costs incurred in her libel action against the State broadcaster.

Labour leader Pat Rabbitte said in the Dáil today that it was an extraordinary coincidence that the deal was reached just as Bertie Ahern indicated Ms Flynn would be welcome back into Fianna Fáil.
