Ahern's 'dig-out' friend to be reappointed to state job

The Government is reportedly set to reappoint one of the businessmen who gave the Taoiseach money in the 1990s as chairman of the Dublin Port Company.

Joe Burke, a Donegal-born builder, was one of the men who contributed to the "dig-out" that Bertie Ahern received around the time of his marriage break-up.
