Body found in Galway freezer 'was Dublin drug dealer'
Gardaí have revealed that the man found dead in a cold storage unit in Galway city last week was a well-known drug dealer from Dublin.
The man has been identified as 51-year-old Patrick McCormack, with addresses on the Malahide Road and Foley Street in Dublin.
His body was found last Wednesday in a freezer room at the rear of a fish shop on Henry Street.
Gardaí have launched a murder inquiry and are investigating if his death was drug-related.
They are also trying to determine if he was killed in the cold storage room or dumped there.
A post mortem is being carried out today after being delayed for a week while Mr McCormack's body thawed out.
The Gardaí have refused to comment on reports that his hands were tied and that he appeared to have been tortured.
