Ireland stifling efforts to reduce emissions, says EU report
Ireland has been identified as one of the countries holding back the EU's efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
In its latest annual report, the European Environmental Agency says total emissions in the 27 current member states fell by 0.7% between 2004 and 2005.
Germany, Finland and the Netherlands were the largest contributors to the drop.
In Ireland, emissions went up by almost 2%.
