A source close to the Green Party leadership has said they are "tense but optimistic" regarding tonight's vote on a coalition deal with Fianna Fáil.

It is understood from this source that a statement by Patricia McKenna saying she could not back the proposal to go into government with Fianna Fáil is not expected to influence the overall decision.
