Thousands of drivers spend years on provisional licences

The number of motorists spending several years on provisional licences has reportedly soared in the past few years.

Reports this morning say figures obtained under the Freedom of Information Act show that 15,239 drivers were on their sixth, seventh, eighth or even ninth provisional licence last year.
