Swimmer rescued after getting lost off Kerry coast

The Coastguard has rescued a swimmer who went missing in foggy conditions off the coast of Co Kerry yesterday afternoon.

The man was swimming from Geat Blasket Island to Beginish Island when poor visibility apparently caused him to lose his way.

He was swept past the island and was eventually located on a rock by coastguard boats sent out to search for him.
