Labour Youth to boycott special US Embassy reception

The youth wing of the Labour Party is boycotting a special reception at the US Embassy in Dublin today.

The Embassy has invited young political leaders to the event hosted by the US Ambassador.

However, Labour Youth says it will not be attending in protest at the ongoing US occupation of Iraq.

It has described today's reception as a "shallow and supine" to court the youth wings of Irish political parties.
