Fine Gael record another win as PDs hope for two

The Labour Party's Liz Mc Manus and Fine Gael duo Billy Timmins and Andrew Doyle have picked up the final three Dáil seats in the Wicklow constituency this morning.

McManus was elected on the eighth count, while Timmins and Doyle both got through on the ninth count.

The other two seats were secured yesterday by Fianna Fáil duo Dick Roche and Joe Behan.

Meanwhile, Labour could also clinch a second seat in Dublin South Central, where Eric Byrne is in a tight battle with Sinn Féin's Aengus O'Snodaigh.

Fianna Fáil's Sean Ardagh and Michael Mulcahy have both been re-elected in the constituency, with Mary Upton expected to clinch the other seat for Labour.

The PDs are counting the cost of a swing back to the main parties - Mary Harney is the only PD TD re-elected so far.

It seems the only other possibility of a PD seat is in Galway West, where Noel Grealish is still within distance of taking a seat.
