Bruton elected in Dublin
Fine Gael’s Richard Bruton has been elected to the next Dáil in Dublin North Central.
He was elected on the first count, gaining 9,303 first preference votes, exceeding the quota of 9,105.
Fianna Fáil’s Sean Haughey was just short of the quota in this three-seat constituency, but he looks safe on 9,026.
Ivor Callely looks to be favourite to take the final seat having polled 7,003, with Finnian McGrath the only other serious contender with 5,169.
Labour’s Derek McDowell is well back, polling 2,649.
