Ahern launches outburst against media

Some journalists were hostile and totally unbalanced in their coverage of the early stages of the Fianna Fáil general election campaign, Taoiseach Bertie Ahern claimed today.

In an astonishing attack just four days before polling day, Mr Ahern also rounded on media organisations who "abysmally and appallingly" intruded into the lives of his close friends.
