Man arrested in connection with fatal Dublin crash

Gardaí in west Dublin have arrested a man in his 20s following the deaths of two French women in an overnight road accident.

The women, who were both middle-aged, were walking along Kylemore Road in Ballyfermot when they were hit by a car at around 11pm.

They were both pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car involved in the accident is being questioned at the local garda station.

Meanwhile, motorists are also being advised that the Kylemore Road is closed from the junction of Bluebell Avenue to Landen Road.
