The Labour Party has ruled out Sinn Féin and the Progressive Democrats as potential coalition partners after the upcoming election.

Party spokesman Eamon Gilmore said today that Labour was putting forward an alternative to the current coalition and could not envisage any scenario in which the PDs would be part of this alternative.
