Eight-in-10 voters support mandatory sentences for rape

Eight-in-10 Irish voters are in favour of mandatory minimum sentences for rapists, according to an opinion poll published this morning.

The Lansdowne poll for the Irish Examiner has uncovered widespread support for such sentences across all regions, age groups and social classes.
