Labour pledges to triple number of gardaí on the beat

The Labour Party said today that it is committed to trebling the number of gardaí on the beat in neighbourhoods around the country if it forms part of the next Government.

The party made the vow today at the launch of its plan to make urban and rural areas safer for residents.
