A 28-year-old man has died following a serious assault near Dublin Airport last night.

A 28-year-old man has died following a serious assault near Dublin Airport last night.

A woman who was in the car with the man escaped on foot during the attack.

The man, who gardaí say is believed to be from Eastern Europe, was dragged from a parked car and attacked by a group of men at Naul Road Forrest Little in Swords at about 1am.

The injured man was removed to Beaumont hospital but was pronounced dead at 2am.

The attackers stole the man's car, a Volkswagen Golf, and sped off towards the Cloghran roundabout.

The same model was later found on fire at St Dominic's Park, Coolock.
