Mahon may not continue during election campaign
The Mahon planning tribunal is scheduled to resume today, however there is speculation that it could be adjourned, following the dissolution of the Dáil yesterday.
The Quarryvale Two module is due to get underway today, and will examine the planning and zoning decisions made about the West Dublin site where the Liffey Valley Centre was built.
The tribunal has inquired into Bertie Ahern's finances following claims of payments by key witness, Tom Gilmartin, and is likely to refer to that inquiry in its opening statement.
The tribunal has said it will sit up to two weeks before the date of the election, but it has been suggested that hearings may not continue now the election has been called, as the Taoiseach would not have the opportunity to respond to any allegations made about him.
