Man arrested after fatal stabbing in Dublin apartment

Gardaí in Dublin have arrested a 48-year-old man in connection with a fatal stabbing at an apartment in the west of the city last night.

The 33-year-old victim was stabbed in the chest at Rathlin House in the Waterville area of Blanchardstown at around 9pm.

He was taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown, where he was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

The scene of the stabbing has been preserved for technical examination and a full garda investigation is underway.
