Man stabbed in daylight outside post office
Gardaí in Limerick are investigating a stabbing which took place earlier today near a busy post office.
A 23-year-old man suffered injuries to his neck arm and hands when he was stabbed near the GPO on Cecil Street in Limerick city at around 2pm today.
The victim was sitting in a car near the post office when he was approached by at least two assailants, according to a Garda spokesman.
He was taken to the Mid Western Regional Hospital where his injuries have been described as "not life-threatening".
Gardaí have appealed to anybody who was in the busy area at the time and who may have witnessed the incident to contact Henry Street Garda Station on (061) 212400.
