Couple rescued after canoe overturns on Strangford Lough
A husband and wife are recovering after they were rescued by a lifeboat from Strangford Lough in the North last night.
The couple got into difficulty when their canoe overturned off Home Bay near Killyleagh.
They managed to swim to a racing buoy and were left clinging to it for some time before they were spotted by a passer-by on the shore, who raised the alarm.
The couple, one of whom was suffering from hypothermia, were rushed to hospital after they were picked up by the Portaferry lifeboat.
