McDowell rejects claims about withheld bombs information
Tánaiste and Minister for Justice Michael McDowell has rejected claims that certain state agencies held back crucial information from inquiries into the Dublin and Monaghan bombings.
Yesterday, the latest report into the 1974 attacks was highly critical of the way gardaí handled the original investigation
Speaking in the Dáil today, Mr McDowell said there were absolutely no grounds for suggestions that his department and other state agencies had withheld documentation.
"They have held back nothing whatsoever," he said, "so therefore, I have to reject immediately the suggestion that state agencies are trying to hide the truth from anybody."
