There has been a complete ban on visitors to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick due to the outbreak of the vomiting bug.
Non-essential staff have been advised to stay away from affected wards following eight confirmed cases of the disease.
Outpatient doors will remain closed until the outbreak is over.
The A&E unit remains open and only critically-ill patients and children will be allowed visitors.
